my parents introduced us to this great place in Hollis, Maine, a sort of salvage yard and flea market that has a little bit of everything. I bought an old wire greeting-card rack to display my cards at craft fairs! And we’re thinking of buying an old kitchen sink from them too. Anyway, I love just poking around all the weird old stuff here.
nice collection of old wooden crates
so many sinks to choose from
glass insulators
a trailer full of books

I’m trying to sort through three years’ accumulated books and clothes and art supplies and papers and dust and junk and souvenirs and stuff! Once again I have to condense my worldly things down to two suitcases and maybe a few cardboard boxes (maybe we’ll be able to ship a few things in a container ship? still not sure if it’s affordable). This is alternately sad and exciting, tiresome and pleasurable. The truth is that I love stuff. And I hate to get rid of anything that I might want later. Which makes this kind of fun and also really difficult. I keep thinking that I might rather just stay in South America for the rest of my life rather than have to decide what to bring and what to leave behind. Sigh.

Lots of exciting and awesome things have happened in the past few weeks/months, and all of these exciting things have been keeping me very very busy. Too busy to blog! I’d like to go back and write a more detailed entry about each of these things, but for now here’s a quick list:
-October: weekend at the beach in Uruguay with Julia and friends.
-November: taking Level 5 spanish course at the University of Buenos Aires aka La UBA
-November: got the worst flu
-November: Amy Sawyer came to visit, yaaayyy!!
-November: 8-day trip to Salta and Tucuman provinces in the north of Argentina
-November: nice mention of Morris & Essex on Design*Sponge, which brought me tons of card orders and wholesale inquiries! i’ve been working like a sleep-deprived madwoman to fill wholesale orders and keep up with it all. I am my own sweatshop.
-December: adopted a new puppy! we wanted a friend for Emmylou Elbows, who seemed terribly sad and lonely and scared all the time. new puppy is adorable and fearless and nameless. we’re thinking of calling her Inga Josefina.
